Dreaming up your Wedding Day can sometimes feel overwhelming, or you might not be sure of where to start. One of the most important things that will determine almost everything else for your wedding is the venue. Every other detail from the gown, to the catering, cake, and uniqueness of your day all seem to be centred around, the surroundings!
Photographer, Kaity Body wanted to create a styled wedding photoshoot around one of the restaurants she is most inspired by in Calgary, by Teatro Group, Royale. The first time seeing this space, you feel like you have been transported to a different place. The European focus in this intimate restaurant is shown through many of the materials used around the bar top, floor tiles, patina details on the large mirror, vintage looking wooden chairs, antique china, and some of the rich colours you would see in classic renaissance paintings. Teatro’s Event Planner Brittany was immediately interested in this beautiful collaboration, and helped showcase the Royale with so much they can offer for an elegant wedding day.
It was clear from the start the type of gown that would go with the space, keeping the theme focused on romance, European Influence and the classic feel of the Royale. Rara Avis has quickly become a favourite designer to Kaity, the gowns are so intricately designed with countless delicate details. Rococo Brides is full of very unique, stunning Bridal gowns, it was no surprise their collection included this talented designers work. And to complete a ‘Royale’ bridal style, of course there had to be a subtle crown and elegant jewels to complete the look. Calgary’s Adorn Boutique is full of carefully curated items for every occasion. They have a collection of Olive And Piper Jewellery which has a modern yet antique quality to the gold metal, it was a perfect match with the full look of our Bride, the beautiful Daniela.
Top Knot Brides created a sophisticated, timeless, and romantic loosely curled half up hair style, to tie in with the softness of the gown, as well as the soft and fresh makeup look to accentuate the Brides natural beauty. Top Knot Brides also created a romantic, undone, late night reception updo. Lisa from Top Knot Brides found a way to incorporate the crown for this second look, which is so creative and perspective rarely seen before.
Fox Glove Studio was the perfect match for this location, theme, and style of wedding. The way they create floral arrangements is very clearly Fox Glove Studio’s florals. The use of colour, textures of flowers incorporated together, and the placement is so organic feeling, yet also extremely artistic. Their vision for their work really stands out, and seeing their vision come to life in the final pieces always is exactly right for the environment they are displayed in.
Debbie Wong Design was the perfect addition for the incredible stationary. All of her work is so carefully and intentionally done, creating an appreciation and admiration for calligraphy, stationary suites, and free hand design as an art form. Stationary with this much love put into it becomes a keepsake and a display piece to always remember your special day. The vow books are also a perfect addition to any wedding with the blush design used for this soft, elegant wedding.
Beloved Fine Jewels create double ring boxes to hold the Bride’s Engagement ring and wedding band, to display together in a timeless, velvet french styled oval ring box, a beautiful addition for wedding details. The contrast of the taupe velvet with the vintage ruby ring allow for more attention to be drawn to such an important family heirloom, and the history that may surround it.
Teatro Group has been a leader in the entertainment and service industry in Calgary, Alberta for 25 years. All of the establishments under the Teatro Group have set standards for inspired, timeless and elegant dining experiences. Each of their venues is unique, and have a certain quality about them that seem to allow you to escape to another place through their menu offerings, and ambiance. Teatro’s pastries, and cake design created a feeling of decadence, suited for this Royal inspired wedding.
When getting this talented group of female Vendors together, everyone was so fast to say yes. The team had a very similar vision from the beginning, and seeing how seamlessly everyone worked together really speaks to the amount of hard work, talent, and creative vision these entrepreneurs have. It also explains why they are all so successful and sought after in the Calgary Wedding Industry. It was the greatest pleasure to work along side each of them, and to create a story that will hopefully inspire many towards a timeless, elegant, romantic wedding day full of heart and inspiration.
